The Canadian Social Work Review: A Canadian Character of Social Work?

چکیده

Noting that scholarly journals represent a particular repository of knowledge, we use content analysis to explore the constructions social work represented in Canadian Social Work Review – Revue canadienne de service over 2010–2019. This journal is only formal bilingual (French-English), peer-reviewed country. Rather than broadly reflecting realities and contexts, emerging trends imply specific regional program dominance, both terms authorship issues explored. In part this related English-French language parity having been achieved, though has led other unintended consequences. While published articles critical discourses qualitative approaches are preferred, many do not address power, oppression representation, particularly with regard Indigenous, racialized gendered groups. We conclude journal, whilst leaning toward representation work, also reflects mainstream, dominant views thus portraying contested nature work. Mechanisms add existing Editorial Board efforts for further strengthening critically interrogative lens may be required. Other want consider story they telling profession ways which
